Chrono Trigger is a game developed by SE(Squaresoft at the time,) for the snes. It is a real-time rpg.
Overview:
CT features quite a few new ideas (at the time) that were never seen before in the rpg market. The game has 14 different endings, each distinctly different from one another. It also has team attacks consisting of 2 or 3 characters.
Visuals:5
Graffx suckzorz.
Audio:7
Well, no voice acting, (duh.) The music gets a little tiring in parts, but there are still quite a few musical pieces that I still listen to. Sound effects are better than SoM, and way better than FF, but still (slightly) lacking.
Story:8
I like CT's story. I really do. It beats out SoM's by a long shot, and even approaches the awesomeness that is the stories of FF2 and FF5.
Gameplay:8
The battle system is new and innovative, and I always find new team attacks I somehow didn't know about before. The time travel mechanism is nicely wieved together, and is more or less wrinkle-free. Some of the enemy battles get monotonious(sp?) after a while, but the boss battles are always new and refreshing, (unlike a certain other game *coughSoMcough*
Overall:8
CT is considered a classic in many circles, and for good reason. It's length is very respectable for it's era, it has far too many ending to say that it isn't replayable, the battle system is new and fun, and the musical score introduces some really nice tunes. Character development is top-notch for the time, and the story flows well in general. Chrono Trigger is awesome.
