PRAEDAMNO ULTIMUM CHAPTER ONE: SING WITH ANGELS, DANCE WITH DEMONS
Kazuki slowly awoke, rising out of his slumber. The top half of his slumber-pod opened, the inner sleeping gas spreading throughout the room, slowly ascending to the top of the room where the vents would recycle it. He stood up, still semi-incapacitated from his hangover.
"Holy hell...." he remarked at the sight of his room in dissaray. His clothes strewn throughout the room, the electronic cords chaotically disorganized in one of the corners, "Surely this is the sign spoken of in Revelation!" he jokingly muttered to himself. Deciding not to change into new clothes, he simply left the room. Whilst using his key card to lock his door, someone snook up behind him.
"Good-moooorning twinkle-dum." It was his little sister, Mizuki. Kazuki was alarmed at first and reached for his gun, but, realizing it was only his sister, let down his guard."
"Do you always have to surprise me like that, sis? Y'know, NORMAL people talk to people face-to-face, not by sneaking up on them."
"Oh, Kazuki! You're just so defensive because of the war! Really, it's almost over, and then we'll be alright!"
"Whatever, Mizuki, I just have too...." At that moment he slouched against the hand-rail on the wall, almost falling to the floor.
"Kazuki!" his sister shouted, "Were you out drinking with you're friends again last night?"
"'Course not! I'm just.... tired, is all. Go back to sleep, Mizuki, it's only six o'clock in the morning."
"I'm ALWAYS up this early, dingbat! Someone has to maintain the air supply in here, you know. I swear, if more people appreciated my work, they would realize that without me they would choke and die of all the noxious gasses outside these walls! I swear, without me--" Kazuki was tired of listening to his sister, and drunkedly walked down the metallic hallway. "I WAS TALKING WITH YOU, JERK!...... FINE! I'll continue with my maintanence, than! Hmph!"
Kazuki walked down the twisting hallways, knowing exactly where he's going. Living in this dome for five years, Kazuki knows almost all of it by heart. After aproxamitely fifteen minutes of walking, he found himself at the cafeteria. Walking up to the vending machine, he put in one of his credit tokens, (which reminded him of the old coins that he used to use before the war.) A few buttons and one lever pull later a pill materialized in front of him.
"I hate these things.." Kazuki thought to himself. "Why can't we just have REAL food?"
"You know perfectly well why, Mr. Kouki." Kazuki was once again surprised that he had been unaware that someone was behind him.
Kazuki retaliated, "Why do you always have to read my mind when I have a hangover, Ms. Akira?" The tall woman before him wore glasses, (although most people just wore contact lenses at the time,) a brown victorian dress, (which was also out of date,) and sported long reddish-brown hair.
Chuckling, Akira replied, "Why are you always having a hangover when I decide to read your mind?" Sighing, Azuki didn't know how to respond. He wanted to tell her to mind her own fucking business, but he knew better than that. Akira saved his life, five years ago, when she took him into the dome.
"Well, Ms. Akira, I--" At that moment the two heard a large bang. It was an explosion!

The room became red with alert lights, and the air became filled with sirens. Kazuki could barely hear Akira's order. "Kazuki! Get down to the shelter! Find your sister there and wait for the code red to end!"
He wanted to argue, but Kazuki knew better, and so nodded and ran back in the direction he came from. All of the hallways were lit red with the alert signals, and the alarm became louder and louder as Kazuki got closer to the shelter. The shelter was the basement of the dome, hidden twenty feet under the surface. It was used to protect the people against bomb threats.
As he was rapidly running down the hall as alacratively as he could, Kazuki saw a blur go by in the corner of his eye. It was one of the children in the dome! Knowing she was lost, he quickly ran back to save the girl.
"Dammit, kid! You need to--" Kazuki muttered before he suddenly halted. There was a larrikin there! At the end of the dead-end hallway was a larrikin, looming over the young girl. Kazuki was in disbelief. His phone went off at that moment, drawing the attention of the larrikin. With it's five long legs it stepped right over the girl and walked towards Kazuki. It's stub-like neck stretched out towards him. Kazuki could smell the creature's awful breath as it got nearer. Just as it's head was directly in front of him it opened it's one massive eye.
Kazuki was paralized. He tried to move, but his entire body was like a statue. The larrikin grinned, being delighted in Kazuki's fear. It's jaw opened revealing a second set of teeth.
"Well that life sucked." Kazuki said to himself, thinking that this was the end. Out of nowhere, a huge purple sphere encircled the larrikin, trapping it inside. With the creature no longer staring at him, Kazuki could move again. He saw the young girl across the hall staring at him.
All of a sudden a thought rushed into Kazuki's mind. "KILL IT!" was all he heard. The bubble encapsulating the monster suddenly dissapeared. Without considering, he pulled out the hand gun from his pocket and shot the creature straight in it's huge pupil. Purple blood poured from the eye in gallons. The larrikin's neck started to detract, putting it's head closer to it's massive body. It's legs started to slip on the floor like it was of ice. It fell on it's back, curling up it's legs and neck into a defensive position.
Kazuki grinned. He shot the monster once again in the chest. It shrieked in pain, a horrible, ear-curtling scream, like a banchee's. Kazuki shot it one final time in the head. The plasma shot was dead-on and erupted the head in a river of blood.
With the creature dead, the young girl slowly walked up to Kazuki, treading straight over the larrikin's lifeless cadaver.
Kazuki knew the girl was the one who spoke to him and created the barrier. He shouted at the girl, "What the HELL was that?"
Without saying a word a gun materialized in the girl's hand. Kazuki had never seen a gun anything like the one the girl had. She pointed the gun straight at Kazuki's chest.
"Hey! S-sorry about whatever I did. I don't want to shoot you so put that gun down!" Kazuki ordered.
The girl chuckled. "Turn around."
"Hell no!" Kazuki was NOT about follow orders from some little brat who think's she's everything just because she has a gun.
Telikinetically he was forced into a wall, with his back turned away from the girl. The girl shot directly at Kazuki's back. A smaller larrikin fell lifeless to the floor. It must have been a parasite that had latched onto Kazuki's back. Turning around to look at it, Kazuki jumped backwards in astonishment. He walked up to the girl, looking to apologize for what he said.
"Uh.. hey. Sorry about--"
"Fuck you" With that, the girl pulled the trigger again, sending a bullet straight through Kazuki's skull. Kazuki gave a blank stare at the girl as his vision turned red. He lost balance and fell limp onto the floor.

"La, la la-la la la! LA, LA LA-LA LA LA!! LA, LA LA-LA LA LA!!!!"Slowly opening his eyes, Kazuki saw a vast blue sky above him. He looked around to see a circle of girls all looking exactly like the one who shot him. They were singing while circling around him. They were also throwing pink flower pedals onto him. Kazuki looked beyond them to see vast green rolling hills, going as far as his eyes could see. There were trees, and he could hear birds singing. The smell of sweet flowers permeated the air. "Is this heaven?..." he asked the girls throwing pedals onto him. All but one of the girls vanished. The one remaining looked straight at Kazuki. She had long black hair, and her eyes were red, with unusually large pupils. Her skin was very pale, and Azuki noticed she had two large fangs. She wore an overly-long, simple purple shirt with black pants. Two small cat ears started growing from her head. She pointed straight up, where Kazuki saw a hole in the sky where the sun once was. From that hole a large crack broke through the sky. Soon after the sky completely shattered like glass, revealing many people looking down at the two of them. The people wore strange, white clothing, and seemed to find enjoyment in watching the two. Kazuki realized that this is something like a coliseum. Looking outward he saw all of the trees die and wither away and all the grass burn from the hills. In their stead were created pillars of flame and rivers of blood. Terrified, Kazuki tried to run away. No matter how fast he ran he just ended up straight where he started. He was going nowhere fast. Stopping to catch his breath, he noticed the girl smiling at him, her fangs more noticeable than ever. "If this is a coliseum," he thought, "she must be the lion." All of the people above burst out laughing, even more so than they were when Kazuki was trying to escape. "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON! !?!?!!" He yelled as loudly as he could up at the people. At that time they started to rise from their seats, one at a time, and walk away. They all knew something was going to happen. The child started walking towards Kazuki. He caught a glimpse of her eyes, forever staring, forever hating. Kazuki became terrified. The girl held out her hand, whispering to Kazuki. "come with me." This frightened Kazuki even more, so he took a step back. Behind him, however, the land had dissapeared, opening a gorge stretching down into the abyss. Kazuki attempted to regain his balance, but ultimately fell into the chasm.

"La, la la-la la la! LA, LA LA-LA LA LA!! LA, LA LA-LA LA LA!!!!"
Slowly opening his eyes, Kazuki saw a vast blue sky above him. He looked around to see a circle of girls all looking exactly like the one who shot him.
Kazuki was in total disbelief. He stood up and began walking away. He ran into one of the girls, but she simply disappears as he continues walking. After a few meters walked he feels an object under his step. It's his phone. He puts it into his pockets. Suddenly his memories came back to him.
Slowly opening his eyes, Kazuki saw a vast blue sky above him. He looked around to see a circle of girls all looking exactly like the one who shot him.
Kazuki stood up, wondering what was going on. He had completely lost his memories again. He felt the weight of his phone in his pocket, and took it out. He opened it, and noticed that he had a new text message.
It read "Sing with Angels and dance with demons".
Kazuki stood up, remembering the text messaging. He joined in with the song.
"La, la la-la la la! LA, LA LA-LA LA LA!! LA, LA LA-LA LA LA!!!!"
The sun fell from the above, leaving a hole in the sky. The sky broke apart into tiny shards, disappearing before they could reach the ground. The people were there again, starring down at Kazuki and the girl. Once again the plants died and were replaced with fire and blood.
The girl chuckled. "Turn around."
This time Kazuki listened. He saw a huge chasm in front of him. He peered down the hole to see small dancing figures at the bottom of it. After taking a deep breath, he plunged himself into the pit. He shut his eyes and found himself falling down the chasm head first. After a couple moments, he opened his eyes wondering what happened. He could see nothing but darkness. Then, the child appered in front of him, falling upside-down as well.
"Do you want to be set free?" The girl whispered.
Kazuki had no idea how to respond. He remembered how he used to joke about going to Hell, saying that he would simply never die in the first place. This is what he wanted, right? He wanted FREEDOM.

Slowly opening his eyes, Kazuki saw that he was back in the dome. The sirens where still going off like banchees, and the alert lights were still flickering back and forth. The foul stench of larrikin blood filled the hall. Kazuki tried to get up, but ended up coughing up blood. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. His next attempt failed as well, resulting in only more pain. Kazuki whinced, and when he opened his eyes he saw the girl leaning over him. He tried to speak, but without success.
"You sure are persistent, young man." The girl said to him. "Here, drink this." She put a glass of purple liquid in front of Kazuki's mouth. Reluctantly, he drank it.
Kazuki coughed up more blood. "What the HELL is this crap? It tastes terrible!"
The girl chuckled. "What is your name, young man?"
Kazuki fell silent. He still didn't trust this girl. He reconsidered, however. If it wasn't for her he would still be in that hellish dream. "Dream?" Kazuki cognated, "Was that all a dream?"
"Well?!" The girl insisted impatiently.
"Oh, uhhm.... My name is.. Kouki. Kazuki Kouki."
"Is that so, Kazuki Kouki! I thought you would lie to me."
Kazuki was surprised. "How do you know that I'm not--" Kazuki just realized. He checked his pockets for his ID card, but couldn't find it. "Why would you ask if you already knew?"
"To see if you were trustworthy. Anyways, you don't have an identity anymore, anyways, so it doesn't really matter."
"What do you mean by that??!"
"You are dead, Kazuki Kouki. I killed you. You are now one of the undead. A vampire."
"WHAT THE HELL!!?" he exclaimed. "WHY DID YOU KILL ME?!?!"
"Don't yell, you'll hurt my fragile ears," she pointed at her cat ears. "I shot you, and you were sent to Purgitory. I met you there, and asked if you wanted freedom. You said you did, so I bit you and turned you into a vampire. You have the bite marks on your neck. Kazuki put his hand up to his neck to feel the wounds, and indeed they were there. The girl continued, "My name is Monday, and from now on you can be Tuesday, k'?"
Kazuki had absolutely no idea what was going on. He got up and argued, "No, my name is Kazuki. Kazuki Kouki, not Tuesday."
"Kazuki Kouki is dead," Monday responded, "I killed him. All that is left is Tuesday. You are dead. Your eyes are turning red, your skin pale. Your hair is turning black, and you are becoming thirsty for blood. The liquid you drank earlier, that was the larrikin's blood. You need it to replace the blood you once had when you were living. You enjoyed it didn't you?"
Kazuki couldn't respond. He did enjoy drinking the blood, but.... "No, it was terrible."
Monday chuckled. "You are not only untruthful to me, but you are untruthful to yourself, Tuesday."
"I TOLD you, my name is--
"TUESDAY!" Monday shouted. Kazuki was startled, as he had never heard the young girl shout before.
"....I killed you so that you may live. This dome is about to be erradicated, the larrikin will come to it in hordes. We must flee."
"No! My sister, Akira!..."
"You have no sister. Kazuki had a sister, yes, but you are no longer him."
This angered him. "Screw you, I'll find my sister!" With that he ran off.

Kazuki ran faster than he ever did before. He never ran out of breath, and his heartbeat didn't even escelate! "Guess there are some advantages to being dead..." he thought to himself. Then he thought of the larrikin blood running through his veins. Shuttering, he pushed that thought away and focused on his mission: he needed to find his sister. Kazuki finally made it to the ladder leading down to the shelter, but was so hurried he jumped straight down. Despite landing twenty feet further down, he wasn't hurt at all. The door to the shelter was locked, but Kazuki didn't notice until he accidently broke the lock just by trying to turn the knob! When he went in, Kazuki was terrified. There were larrikin all over the room, feeding on their dead victims. He saw Mizuki's dead corpse lying on the ground, and was aghast. Kazuki's phone suddenly rang, drawing the attention of all the larrikin. With trembling hands, he pulled the phone out of his pocket and opened it. Another text message from Monday was on the phone. He started reading the message when he was teleported out of the dome. He was relieved that he was out of harm's way, but still overly saddened. He looked around to see he was in a ship. He looked out of a window, down at the dome he had lived in for five years. It was completely surrounded by larrikin, which were even climbing the curved walls of the dome. Kazuki could hardly see the dome it was so covered by the beasts.
Monday teleported into the ship, scolding Kazuki. "What did I say, Tuesday? You're sister is dead. YOU'RE dead. Everyone is dead." At that time her phone rang.
With no warning a heat wave shot through the ship, which rocked back and forth. Kazuki gave his attention back down to the dome, finding that the entire dome had just exploded!

I think I will request for this thread to be deleted, so I can post these in entire chapters. I'm already finished through chapter 3, but I will post them in moderation, (once this thread is deleted...)
